Why I Give Kindness Awards

I get to walk to work most days. It makes me enjoy living in my town that much more.

This town I live in has a population of ten thousand people or more. It is just north of Oklahoma City. It has a great history. High school football is a must do on Friday nights. The architect of the downtown buildings are worthy of weekend visits from you good people who live far and away.

And via social media, I like to give out Kindness Awards primarily to individuals who live in my town.

Kindness Awards are given to individuals who show kindness to me at some point during the day or week or just over time. I recently gave a Kindness Award to a person for always greeting me with a smile when I walk into one of my favorite local spots.

I give them to individuals that I see doing kind things for others throughout my day as well. Or week. Or just over time.

Why. Why do I give Kindness Awards? Because, it is important to celebrate what you want to see more of. And, I want to see more people being kind. I want us to be consistent in our kindness.

Love is kind.
