This is my first post! I have never written a blog before and this is all new to me so be kind.

Before the summer holiday I had decided to leave my full time job and become a freelance graphic designer.

I had been working in a school reprographics department where my main duties were design and marketing including the school prospectus and school website.

Today is the first day of term and I have just taken my eldest son for his first day in Year one. My youngest is in preschool and goes to nursery for three days a week. I will be working three days a week from home, which means I can be there for my children more and do something that I love on my days without kids, I see this as a ‘win win’ situation!

So, it’s my first day working from home and the first thing I’ve noticed is that it’s so quiet!!!

My first job was to start a blog, to document my journey, I can tick that off of my list! Does anyone have any tips for freelancing or working from home and in particular being a mum and doing so?….

Ok, I’m feeling really nervous about pushing the ‘post’ button! ‘Medium’even asked if I wanted to share to ‘twitter’ and I know I should but I began to wonder ‘who follows me on twitter and what will they think’. Why should I care what people think? I’m feeling really anxious about putting myself out there.
