sexism and the patriarchy are too often conflated as one and the same. while sexism is one expression of patriarchy (which is itself an expression of both toxic masculinity and toxic femininity that is reciprocally wounding to both the objectifier and objectified), it is not the totality of this system, and contrary to common misunderstanding, women are not the only ones wounded by it. men, women, children, animals and Mother Earth — our very potential as a collective sentient Being — are all affected by this system, which can be characterized by three core false principles: 1) the principle of scarcity 2) the principle of command-and-control (or ego-based hierarchy) and 3) the principle of compartmentalization (or rule of categorical thinking)
