Saunders didn’t win his party’s vote because he was sabotaged by that same party. If he had won the candidacy, he would have handily beaten Trump not only because he is profoundly more intelligent and a powerful debater, he also had a platform that specifically was addressing the concerns of those in Trump’s constituency, namely the working poor and the socially disenfranchised. Trump won not because he was the superior candidate, but because the Dems blew it with Bernie and the hate-on for Clinton.
