Seeing another community builder go

Makes me just shake my head

How could it be

“no”

/

Disbelief

That one could take her own life

/

With so much community around them

To help cope with the strife

/

Suffering so internal

No external force could solve

/

A loneliness

Hidden underneath smiles

A creative energy

That could not be withdrawn

/

Surrounded by community

We cannot escape ourselves

/

When it comes down to it

Maybe that’s all we have

/

We can build communities here and there and everywhere

But the community of one

With our self

Is the greatest challenge
