The government decided to concentrate on the development of original technology for the block chain next year and decided to proceed with the block chain project led by supply companies.
The Information Technology Promotion Center (IITP), the Information and Communications Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA), and the Korea Internet Promotion Agency (KISA) held a briefing on the integration of block-chain businesses at the Korea Science and Technology Center in Gangnam- Announced.
IITP will develop original technology to complement the shortage of the block chain next year and develop application platform for specialized field. The goal is to establish a foundation for securing next-generation technological competitiveness and build an industrial ecosystem.
For this, IITP will support 12 projects with 7.8 billion won. (R & D) and R & D (9) (5.2 billion won), including two innovative innovation type R & D (1.8 billion won) including development of distributed self- All.
Kim Jonghyun IITP PM said, “The level of Korea’s block chain technology (core technology, platform, service) is 2.4 years compared to the US, which is the most advanced. “He said.
It also starts a block-chain project led by supply companies. NIPA will invest 5 billion won in ‘Service Model Design and Technology Verification (PoC)’ project. The key is to design and implement prototypes and demonstrate services so that the creative ideas of private companies can be embodied in business models.
An official of NIPA said, “The domestic market has not been commercialized as a service model compared to the high social interest in the block chain, and the investment is insufficient.”
A total of 10 projects are selected, and the field of support is all areas where creative services based on block chaining can be applied. The project costs consist of government contributions and private contributions.
In addition, NIPA plans to select ten companies and institutions to promote ‘Block Chain Based Service Model Development and Adoption Support Consulting’ project. Provides customized introduction consulting by finding customers who need to apply block chain technology, and supports technical support consulting for companies that need a block chain-based business model among SW developers and companies.
KISA will find out and support ‘the project led by the private sector’ next year. We look for projects that can enhance civilian block-chain technology capabilities and reduce social costs. We will select three projects by free competition method and support up to 1.5 billion won.
Min Kyung-sik, head of the KISA block chain, said, “In the case of private-led national projects, we will try both qualitative and quantitative evaluation of how much the citizens benefit.”
