Next year, the government will carry out a public block chain business with more than 25 billion won. Many of them will be offered in free offer form and will be an opportunity for block-chain technology companies. The government plans to build a public block-chain platform through sequential technology development until 2023, and it is expected that the public works will continue for the next several years.

The Ministry of Science and Technology, the Korea Internet Development Agency (KISA), the Information and Communication Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA), and the Information and Communication Technology Promotion Center held a briefing on the integration of the block chain business in 2019 for private businesses at the Korea Science and Technology Center in Seoul,

Project manager (PM) of Information and Communication Technology Promotion Center (IITP), Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Science and Technology, has unveiled a road map of the government ‘s block chain technology development. Kim Jong-hyun, PM, said, “According to the data we surveyed earlier this year, the core technology of Korea’s block chain is at a level of 70 points, compared with the US at 2.4 years.” In order to reduce this gap, “He said.

He said, “The first direction of the government’s technology development is the development of the original technology. “We need to develop for a long time with source-based technologies, or we need to develop the necessary source technologies that are not related to profit,” he said.

“The block chain platform is now trying to create something that can be used in common for a specific industry or purpose,” he said. “We want to create a new industry by creating a platform that applies not only to a specific industry, but also to a common one. We are aiming to finalize the public block chain platform by 2023. “

The Information and Communication Technology Promotion Center will develop block-chain bookkeeping technologies in 2019 and 2020, including large-scale data parity services, large data distribution block-chain platforms, and high-reliability distributed agreement technology. In 2021, the electronic document usage management service and the block chain technology validation tool are created. In 2022, we will develop specialized components for block-chain services and large-scale data processing networks. In 2023, a public block chain platform is completed.

Data linkage between block chains, interoperability between block chains, IoT convergence block chain technology, and block chain reliability evaluation and verification technologies are also made.

To this end, the Information and Communication Technology Promotion Center will invest 12 billion won in the budget of 7.8 billion won in 2019. And development of distributed identity information management technology using block chain. And the problem of block-chain-to-chain transaction and block propagation delay.

The remaining seven tasks will be done in a free competition system. Companies will make proposals and develop selected technologies within the scope of the main rule.

Separately, the Information and Communications Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA) also announced plans for the block-chain business. NIPA will support 10 projects next year with a budget of 5 billion won. The NIPA task is characterized by supplier focus. You can shape your business model by suggesting creative ideas from a block-chain perspective.

NIPA will also provide consulting services next year with a budget of 1 billion won. Companies that want to apply the block chain and those who want to embody the block chain business are targets.

The Korea Internet Promotion Agency (KISA) will conduct 12 public demonstration projects next year. A total of KRW 7.2 billion, worth KRW 600 million per project, is supported. KISA selected 12 block-chain projects including Seoul City, Jeju Island, Defense Business Administration, Military Manpower Administration, and Post Office. This project will be built by private operators. KISA also supports three free public offer block-chain projects. Up to KRW 1.5 billion is supported for one project.

The budget of the public block chain project conducted by the Korea Internet Development Agency (KISA), the Information and Communications Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA), and the Information and Communication Technology Promotion Center is over 25 billion won. It is anticipated that there will be projects carried out by individual departments, agencies and municipalities.

On the other hand, the preliminary feasibility study of the ‘block chain long-term technology development project’, which is being promoted by the Ministry of Information and Communication (MIC) at the scale of 560 billion won, is believed to have proceeded to the second inspection meeting.
