Because 2 out of every 3 Americans will receive a cancer diagnosis in their lifetime — this means every single American will be impacted in some way by cancer. This means YOU will be impacted as a patient, a loved one or a friend. We are all impacted as a community.
This is why we have prepared a unique resource to help bring greater hope and better living…for you as a cancer patient or as someone trying to love and serve a cancer patient. Because YOU matter.
You are going to need more than just information. You will need to know what questions to ask; what options you have and what choices you face. You’ll need to know how to be heard and how to find those who will listen. You need to know not just how to survive, but how to thrive and find peace in each moment.
Today, there are more than a billion cancer pages online. They offer look-ups, facts, and very limited guidance. While most are well intentioned, none begin with YOU. None of them personalize the information they serve up. Some have bad or obsolete information. Fewer still can offer the hope you need and the support you deserve.
Each year, 1.6 million people are diagnosed with cancer. They set out to find answers as to what issues they face and what resources are available to them. These new patients struggle to determine the questions to ask and must discern among multiple sources for credible answers. Left to evaluate treatment options, find community support, obtain access to clinical trials (or not), and locate sources of financial support on their own, the confusion surrounding this leads to a sense of despair, discouragement, relational/family difficulties, unnecessary financial hardships, delays in treatment and even death.
Now imagine these new cancer patients (and those that love them) being able to access a complete online clearinghouse of information and resources, both local and national, which will help answer all their questions with a few simple clicks. This resource will be comprehensive, continually updated by cancer-related product and service providers and community groups and available to the public free of charge. This is Help4Cancer.net.
The only resource of its kind, Help4Cancer.net will quickly become the “go-to” information hub for cancer patients, cancer survivors, family members, service and product providers, as well as a community resource for agencies and ministries. The portal will be able to sort through the plethora of information to enable millions of people to get to what matters most in their situation based on their type of cancer, their location, their financial profile and health condition. Because YOU matter.

Why Radio
Cancer Peace Radio is created to support the needs of cancer patients and their communities for easy access to no-cost, informational and inspiration media to fortify their journey into peace.
- Fill a gaping need in the national discussion of how to survive and thrive in the cancer journey. Not just as a survivor, but as a person with peace.
- Offer a forum for cancer patients to express their individual stories in an honest, supported, and loving environment.
Cancer Peace University™ enables both faith based and secular community organizations to offer cancer support groups or to complement current programs. The program provides experts via video (DVD), thus empowering organizations and putting them in a position to offer this much needed service to their community, no matter where they are located.
People who face a cancer diagnosis, and those who are living with cancer, have a steep learning curve to climb and an array of personal and family issues to cope with. In the US, there are nearly 12 million living with cancer and 1.6 million new diagnoses each year. Many patients, family members and survivors are trying to deal with this alone, or as an isolated family unit. It doesn’t have to be this way.
Currently, healthcare organizations, oncology clinics, non-profits and other organizations provide support groups and patient education. Usually, they are facilitated by experts on the subjects being covered. These programs definitely are of value and serve the community very well. In some cases patient education programs are streamed over the Internet or made available on Podcasts which assists in impacting a larger audience. However, there are several challenges with meetings that are made available to cancer patients, survivors, family members and friends:
- Typically available in metropolitan areas only and therefore not available in rural areas unless streaming on the Internet or by Podcast. Most cancer patients and survivors are older and many do not have access to, or are comfortable with technology; thus, a DVD format or facilitated group can be much more helpful
- Specific to types of cancer with high occurrence rates — people with cancers that are not high occurrence are not served
- Subjects are limited in scope—covering subjects such as blood counts. Topics involving faith, hope, managing relation-ships and financial issues are rarely discussed
- There is a limit to how many people can participate
Help4Cancer.net is also the door to your cancer story…a door that connects your experience with others who are living and experiencing the story of cancer. In the future it will feature a place for those dealing with cancer to journal, chat and blog…to hear, to be heard, to support and love one another in life, in brokenness and, in dying…each person’s reality.
