Hi A.
Viktor Frankl developed a psychological disicipline called “Logotherapy”. The theory is founded on the belief that human nature is motivated by the search for a life purpose; logotherapy is the pursuit of that meaning for one’s life. Frankl’s theories were heavily influenced by his personal experiences of suffering and loss in Nazi concentration camps.
If you cannot pick a logos, do what the diceman recommended. Pick one at random. It is freeing.

I can also recommend the writings of Krichnamurti the anti-religion spiritualist. He really kicks ass and brought me back from the very brink of faustian inspired, Cult of Chulthu haunted madness. I am now a perfectly balanced, finely tuned respectable AND successful anti-fascist who chose the light side of the force. He say things like this:
Alive at whatever age: We carry about with us the burden of what thousands of people have said and the memories of all our misfortunes. To abandon all that totally is to be alone, and the mind that is alone is not only innocent but young- not in time or age, but young, innocent, alive at whatever age- and only such a mind can see that which is truth and that which is not measurable by words. — Krishnamurti, Freedom from the Known,69
On the other hand you might want to read the “Book of the Subgenius” It is the best way to go because, “In the future you will pay to know what to really think.”

Just beware becoming a “True Believer”!
