All the memorials from different states should be gathered together and placed in a park in DC, close to one another — without the pedestals — and described as a ‘memorial to civil war memorials.’
It would look like a marching bronze army on horseback marching. Kids can play there, climb and sit on the horses. Each statue would have a plaque, a tombstone of sorts, saying where it’s from and who it’s of. The memorial would preserve the history, but also put it in context.
