Ford Announces the New 2017 F150 Super Duty

The wait is (almost) over truck lovers, as Ford has revealed the new 2017 F150 Super Duty, coming to dealers in Utah, and around the country, next fall. This is the third generation Super Duty, and it’s coming on the heels of new emissions standards put in place by the U.S. government, meaning not only is this truck going to be the toughest, hardest working truck on the road, but it’s also going to be environmentally friendly and easy on your wallet, in terms of mileage.

The Super Duty is in a class of trucks known as heavy duty or one ton trucks. In other words, it’s a behemoth. But don’t let the size fool you, as with the new F150, the Super Duty will be built with Ford’s signature high-strength, military-grade aluminum-alloy. Along with the high-strength aluminum-alloy body comes an all new frame made of 95 percent high-strength steel.

With all of these new material upgrades, the 2017 F150 Super Duty will weigh 700 pounds less than the the last Super Duty, the 2014 model. Ford engineers took advantage of this weight loss by upgrading the driveline which, according to PickupTrucks.com, beefs up the drive shafts, axles and four-wheel-drive transfer case.

The new F150 Super Duty will come with three different engine options; a 6.2-liter V-8 engine, a larger 6.8-liter V-10 engine, or a 6.7-liter Power Stroke turbo-diesel engine. Each one more powerful and reliable than the last, making the Ford Super Duty the smartest option for heavy duty consumers in Utah and across America.

Ford didn’t forget about technology either. The 2017 super duty comes equipped with advanced trailer tow technology, including 7 cameras, trailer back up guidance that can warn of jack-knife conditions, a trailer tire pressure monitoring system and a blind spot information system. The new adaptive steering systems will make driving with a trailer even easier and can adapt to different weights, meaning a smarter drive when hauling loads through the mountains of Utah

Of course the interior is being updated as well. The super duty shares all three of the half-ton F150 cab options, meaning more interior space. It will be equipped with a flatter back seat floor, making the loading of items inside the cab more convenient, overhead trailer controls and a dual-level glove box. Rounding out the updated interior is an 8-inch touch screen featuring Ford’s new sync3 technology.

The time is almost here. Ford’s biggest, baddest and newest truck will be hitting Utah Ford dealerships next fall. Make sure to mark the date on your Calendar.
