Why the 2017 Ford Raptor Will be Your Husband’s Midlife Crisis Vehicle

The 2010 Ford F150 Raptor was an instant success. As the official off-road counterpart of the F150, the Raptor was tuned specifically for tearing through terrain such as the mountains of Utah. Not only was the truck built specifically to combat off-road terrain, but it had that look about it as well, given a tougher makeover than the F150. Now, the new 2017 Ford F150 Raptor has been revealed, and much like it’s predecessor, it’s the perfect vehicle to spend a midlife crisis in.
The first reason being the Raptor’s looks. A man can’t simply have a midlife crisis while driving a conservative mom van or Japanese-built sedan. A midlife crisis vehicle should be the baddest looking ride at any given intersection in Utah. It should be able to pull up next to a Camaro and make it look like a kitten. With a unique front end and tailgate design, the Raptor is quite possibly the meanest looking pickup in the world.
Scaring the neighborhood kids isn’t the only thing this beast of a truck can do. As the premier off-road truck of America, the Ford F150 Raptor comes equipped with FOX Brand racing shocks, perfect for handling the rocky terrain of Utah.
Ford’s website also reports the inclusion of “standard 17-inch BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires designed specifically for Raptor, a new standard torque-on-demand transfer case to better manage power distribution between the front and rear wheels, and the standard all-new Terrain Management System allowing drivers to easily optimize the driving dynamics of the Raptor to environmental conditions.”
Of course, the Raptor is a Ford F150, and is built as such. Not only does the Raptor come with the above feature, but it will be built with Ford’s new high-strength, military-grade aluminum, making the new Raptor much lighter than it’s predecessor.
With this wight-loss comes better control and more power. And, although a man going through a midlife crisis isn’t known to care about fuel efficiency, the weight-loss will help out with that as well, meaning he’ll have more money to spend on things like designer clothes and rock concerts.
To many, speeding down a two track in the mountains of Utah doesn’t seem like a midlife crisis, but owning the new 2017 Ford F150 Raptor can make it seem like one. There has never been as incredible a truck, and with the incredible safety features, fuel efficiency, devilish good looks and sheer power, the raptor will be enjoyed by the whole family, not just the one experiencing the midlife crisis.
