Re: Buhari and the Descendants of Shimei

I have just read with utter disgust, an Op-Ed authored by spokesman to the ailing President Muhammadu Buhari, in which critics of the presidency and its handling of the health condition of their principal were called descendants of Shimei.

Shimei as the Holy Bible explains in 2 Samuel 16:5–13, was a relative of King David’s predecessor, King Saul. David was anointed to replace him, and the story of that is one we could discuss another time, but Adesina’s shameful analogy is my topic of interest.

He calls all Buhari’s critics ‘filthy dreamers’ who ‘despise dominion’. He likened us all to a man, a single man who acting alone, defied God, and touched his anointed, to the point of harming him.

The Bible says in Psalm 105:15, “Saying, Touch not my anointed ones, And do my prophets no harm.”

Shimei by cursing David and throwing stones at him, defied God, a feat that although David could have easily achieved against Saul to the point of killing him, David’s fear of God would not let him, please read 1 Samuel 24.

Judging by the names we all now go by according to Adesina, if he worked under David, it is very likely that he would have been beheaded for referring to God’s people as ‘filthy dreamers’.

Adesina’s behavior brings to mind 2 Chronicles 18. In this very vivid scripture, two kings (Ahab of Israel and Jehoshaphat of Judah) had allied and were set to go to war against Ramoth in Gilead and decided to seek God, to know if they will conquer. The Bible goes on to state that 400 prophets were gathered and asked if the alliance will be victorious and guess what they all said? “Go because God will hand them over to you”.

The Bible says “But Jehoshaphat asked, “Is there no longer a prophet of the Lord here whom we can inquire of?”

To cut the story short, Micaiah who was famous for never prophesying anything good about Ahab was called and when asked he said “Therefore hear the word of the Lord: I saw the Lord sitting on his throne with all the multitudes of heaven standing on his right and on his left. 19 And the Lord said, ‘Who will entice Ahab king of Israel into attacking Ramoth Gilead and going to his death there?’

“One suggested this, and another that. 20 Finally, a spirit came forward, stood before the Lord and said, ‘I will entice him.’

“‘By what means?’ the Lord asked.

21 “‘I will go and be a deceiving spirit in the mouths of all his prophets,’ he said.

“‘You will succeed in enticing him,’ said the Lord. ‘Go and do it.’

Now, will Adesina be bold enough to tell President Buhari any of this? Has Adesina not shown himself as a ‘prophet’ under the influence of a deceiving demon?

On his comparison of King David to Buhari, Adesina is shameless and blasphemous.

David was anointed king over all Israel as a teenager, while Saul still reigned. God chose David and was pleased with him all his life and made him a promise that he will never lack a descendant to sit on his throne. Jesus Christ, a part of the Holy Trinity came from David’s line and still rules as King forever to us Christians.

Buhari on the other hand was forced on Nigerians at 72, by parasitic politicians with money to buy up media spaces in exchange for a seat at the table, hiding from persecution for corruption allegations.

When Shimei cursed David, one of his men, Abishai asked to kill Shimei, but David rebuked him saying perhaps it was God’s will for him to be cursed that day, refusing to allow blood be spilled, no matter how much Shimei deserved it.

Buhari in stark contrast has been insensitive to the plight of his people, forcing incompetent leadership down our throats for the 2 years since he has been in office, majorly unchallenged, all this while, his Abishai(s) have been about, spilling innocent blood.

Not just that, Nnamdi Kanu, Femi Fani-Kayode, Olisah Metuh, Sambo Dasuki and what Buhari and his cohorts have done to these men, is an example that he is not and should never be likened to King David of Israel, God’s chosen one.

Buhari with his handling of the Shiites and IPOB agitators in Nigeria has shown that he and the people who work under him are blood thirsty workers of evil, whose only law is their thirst for power at every cost.

Adesina went on to quote Revelations 22:11 talking about the return of Christ to reward all men according to their works. Have you forgotten sir? What does the Bible say God’s reward for oppressors is? What has He promised evil doers and false prophets like yourself?

The Presidential spokesman is one person who I believe has always had a penchant for rhyming, trying to wax lyrically or jumping on the bandwagon of something trendy when it suits him. Remember ‘A new Sheriff is in town’, President Buhari’s ‘body language’ is enough to fix Nigeria?

Well for some depraved reason I will never know and have no intention to unveil, the diminutive journalist has also joined Mrs. Buhari and Senator Shehu Sani who believe that Nigeria is a kingdom of sorts with Buhari RULING it.

Sir, Nigeria is not a kingdom, and will never be. On behalf of all Nigerians, we reject this notion along with all seeking to propagate it.
