This is not news by any means, but it bears repeating: the musical scores from Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross are my soundtracks for productivity. For both The Social Network and The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, as well as the upcoming Gone Girl, all films by David Fincher, the Nine Inch Nails frontman has teamed up long time collaborator Atticus Ross to produce haunting synth orchestral opuses.

The films for which the scores are made all feature extremely driven protagonists. Fixated on complicated situations, personal nightmares, and—most frequently—computer screens. I have left the first two of the films, with the scores still echoing in my head, a strong notion to work harder than ever.

This is a brief notice in case we haven’t talked about this before, or you haven’t heard these yet. They’re great to write to. The brevity of this post should not suggest otherwise.
