What makes a bad website?

​It’s pretty easy to spot a bad website when you see it, but do you know exactly why certain sites are unappealing? Likely they have made a combination of (several of) these mistakes :

• Too many colours or using very bright neon colours
• Too many images — or no images at all
• Blinking text and animations
• “Under Construction” signs
• Pixellated images
• Broken links
• Boring or out of date content
• Content that does not explain what the organization does
• No call to action — what do you want us to do?
• Dark background with light text or red text
• Tiny fonts that make it difficult to read
• Rainbow anything
• TEXT IN ALL CAPS
• Everything is centred
• Using unprofessional fonts (like Comic sans)
• Navigation buttons that don`t work or take you somewhere you don’t want to go
