Let’s move on to today’s message. As the year ends and 2021 begins, the Holy Spirit wants to encourage us to continually look up to him. There is a differnce betweeen looking up to Jesus fully and looking up to him but with an alternative plan or agenda. The Bible says in Psalm 123 v 1–2 : v1Unto thee lift I up mine eyes, O thou that dwellest in the heavens.2 Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait upon the Lord our God, until that he have mercy upon us(KJV). This scripture shows us that not everyone looks up to Jesus. People have preferences to whom they look up to but as children of God we have to look up to Jesus no matter the circumstances we face. In Hebrews 3 v1 — Therefore, holy brothers and sisters, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, whom we acknowledge as our apostle and high priest (NIV). Dear friends as long as you acknowledge Jesus as your savior, give him the responsibility to take care of you.

Why should we look up to Jesus?

  1. He cares for us.

Jeremiah 29 v 11: For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future(NIV).

2. He owns our salvation

Hebrews 12 v 2: We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith.Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne(NIV). Dear friends, everything we need to succeed in our faith is in Jeuss. His life style, actions and deeds serves are perfect examples for us to emulate. Make Jesus your role model today.

3. He is always with us

Deuteronomy 31 v 6: Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you” (NIV).

4. You are born for greatness

Daniel 11 v32: And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits (KJV). You can only access greatness when you know Jesus. Every other ill-gotten fame or achievement will never last and unfortunately will make such a person miss heaven.

Dear friends, be encouraged never to loose hope or your focus in God. At the end of the day, you will smile as long as you never stop looking up to Jesus.

Thank you very much for reading. God bless you.

Please don’t forget to share with your contact list, and on your status. Have a blessed week and happy new year 2021 in advance!!!!

God loves you best.
