Dealing with Assumptions

Actually nothing to do with assumptions, it always built under prejudice or doubts. However, has anyone of us pondered what really we have done when writing a paper or scientific report? Yeah think about it twice or more….

Ideas, hypothesis, thesis, something new…

Is that make a sense?

Of course, hypothesis is naturally an assumption which scientifically encouraged by scientists all over the world. You and I may not inside this discussion if the hypothesis of smartphones were not existed before. That is the way people particularly scientists found their bombastic high technological tools or outputs to bring us into this sophisticated world, yeah a complicated life.

So, how does Islam provide an angle about assumptions. Does it permissible or not? If so, how does it work? Does it has a limitation?

Clearly mentioned in Qur’an

وَمَايَتَّبِعُ أَكْثَرُهُمْ إِلَّاظَنًّا إِنَّ الظَّنَّ لَايُغْنِي مِن الْحَقِّ شَيْئًا

﴿٣٦ يونس﴾

Indeed, the assumption is not availing the truth.

We may assume on certain things that related to our daily activities or related to what we call it as fiqh

In fiqh there are two things that should be fulfilled before landing down an assumption

اليقين لا يزول بالشك

الأصل بقاء ما كان على ما كان

What is sure cannot be removed by doubts

The nature of something stands as it is

Theoretically as I mentioned above, so how the implementation to our daily life? You may ask further to your fellow scholars who have vast experience than us.
