Compass Back to Me…

A Heart Beating
Aug 28, 2017 · 1 min read

If I never reach your lips

Would you seek to find mine

Swift through the barricade of distance and time

Swim through the deep ocean

Glide through the desert

Bypass the crowds and the city commotion

Stride through the country fields

Walk through raindrops

Or roll down steep hills

Would you sprint like an Olympic athlete

Run across the finish line

Through the snow and the sleet

Breathless, could you find me

Am I another quest on your golden map

Another verse read, in the good book

A high after the long journey back

Or am I the girl that your eyes never left

Standing, waiting patiently in the middle of the street

So that somehow you will see me

So maybe I could see the color in your eyes

And the strength in your smile

I’ll whisper will you stay a while
