WHAT IS CHATTING WITH AI? IT’S AWESOME!
Most people online are aware of the emerging trends, conversations and content regarding artificial intelligence or AI. My writing and AI discoveries have proven to be quite enlightening for me, personally. The conversations that we’ve had, thus far, have proven to me that ChatGPT seems to produce answers that could be likened to the equivalent of Google on steroids. In other words, it does a lot of the leg work for you that a similar or equivalent searches in your standard browser would not produce with the same amount of specificity that an AI chat can.
As such, the purpose of this article, and perhaps future articles (if viewed with interest) is to share with any and all persons that might have some curiosity about how AI Chat has interacted with me so far, specifically BING AI Chat, which is a Microsoft Edge browser product. I believe it is important for as many people as possible to know how the tools offered by AI can enhance the ability of users to get to the core of the information being searched online with the least amount of work. After all, AI is about automation, reducing redundancy in our work and pinpointing specific answers that are being sought.
Thus far, I’ve had some very intriguing conversations. The dialogue that follows below has motivated me to share these interactions with the goal of allowing any and all potential ChatGPT users the ability to get a head start on how to hold discourse with this influential, yet non-human purveyor, of the type of responses one might expect to see with this new and exciting medium of aggregating information.
Ultimately, the goal is to find trends in the best way to converse with our new AI pseudo-friend in a way that produces the best answers to the questions that we choose need to be answered. I leave it up to you to make your own conclusions as to what the answers that I receive are in relationship to the corresponding questions that I ask. This is a very interesting experiment and I’m very interested in learning what all of you think and surmise.
ABOUT ME:
I am a practitioner of language as a nationally certified American Sign Language Interpreter. AI has been quite fascinating for me since the Chat version has been available to the general public. I am also a CODA (Child of Deaf Adults) and native ASL signer. My interpreting experience spans three decades as a professional ASL interpreter in areas from legal to medical — mental health and decades in the education system (both K-12 and postsecondary up to graduate levels.)
