Equating pleasure with drug addiction is wrong. Unlike drug addiction, you can train your body to experience more pleasure from sex, eating and exercising. And the analogy with parachuting is completely wrong. As a rock climber I can tell you that the pleasure is experienced while climbing, not when your feet are back on the ground.

To me, this reads as an indictment of Stoicism. Why denying the pleasure of life?
