EYE ON: Claps
We got in trouble for giving too many claps.

We evil feminist chicks at HERZ were known on Medium for always giving everyone a solid 50 CLAPS whenever we clapped. But guess what?
We got in trouble with the algorithm for that! The algorithm sees you as a Spam Bot if you *always* give 50 claps…. or *always* give 1 clap on every post.
YEP! Turns out it’s true what they say — no good deed goes unpunished!
So because of that we’ve developed a new formula for clapping. Unless the article or comment really moves us to do a total 50…. we just clap until we’re tired, which we discovered is somewhere around 30 to 38 claps.
That way we never give the exact same amount of claps to everyone and we also make a distinction between what is support… and what is… excellence.
