Warning About Medium’s New Algorithm

this information fellow writers, because there’s a major change in how your earnings are tabulated that’s about to become standard.
In the last ten days, we’ve seen lots of glitches due to the new algorithm being implemented on Medium (choose not to believe us about the new algorithm at your own risk).
There was a problem with claps for two days, then a major catastrophe with Notifications (it still doesn’t seem completely fixed to me). Many people complained of trouble writing, editing, and using their pages normally.
All of that was to be expected with a new algorithm launching by the end of May (being implemented doesn’t mean it’s been launched yet, but we’re on May 29th, so). But now…. there’s a huge new change being rumored that is crucial to be aware of.
Don’t ask me how I know this. But there’s a new “claps” criteria and here’s how it works:
When you click on someone’s page to read it — if you go directly to the Claps symbol and start giving claps before 20 seconds have passed — then NONE of the claps will be counted toward…
