On Wine. A tragedy.
Ryan Opaz

I learned about wine from a few places, mostly Robert Parker’s dictionary of wine. What was great about it is that you could buy and drink wines and just experience them. Then consult the book and learn about how at least one expert did the same, for better or worse. It was interesting to me and gave me a vocabulary to talk about what I like and don’t like. Although a little geeky it gave me the background to be better at picking wines that I like. I agree the professional opinions are not important, but getting to know how to describe what your personal tastes are like helps you in getting the good stuff!
