So let me see if I’m following you here, and I think I see where you’re going and don’t necessarily disagree. So let’s just say that we saw evidence of a negative symptom in a White community, some evidence of a problem that was really hurting its ability to thrive — call it a pathology to use your term — where would you start looking for the root of the problem? How could we set up a test to determine whether it was generated from within the community itself, or was imposed upon it by some outside group?
