Explained: The Israeli — Palestinian Conflict

The easiest conflict in the world to explain, to solve…not so much:
— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — —

ONE SIDE WANTS THE OTHER SIDE DEAD.

ISRAEL WANTS TO BE A JEWISH STATE & LIVE IN PEACE. THEY RECOGNIZE THE RIGHT OF PALESTINIANS TO HAVE THEIR OWN STATE AND TO LIVE IN PEACE.

THE PROBLEM: MOST PALESTINIANS & MANY OTHER MUSLIM ARABS DO NOT RECOGNIZE THE RIGHT OF ISRAEL TO EXIST — THIS HAS BEEN TRUE SINCE 1947.

A History Review

In 1947, the United Nation proposed a partition to divide Israel & Palestine into 2 separate states. Israel accepted the UN partition but no Arab or any other Muslim states accept it.

Starting in 1948, the armies of Lebanon, Syria, Jordan & Egypt attacked Israel to destroy it. The battle hasn’t stopped since.

In 1967: The Egyptian Dictator announced a plan in his words “to destroy Israel”. He placed troops on Israel’s border and armies of surrounding Arab countries were mobilized to attack, however; Israel preemptively attacked Egypt and Syria. Israel did not attack Jordan and begged the Jordanian King not to join the war. He did and only because of that did Israel take control of Jordanian land, specifically the West Bank of the Jordan River.

Shortly after the war, the Arab states went to Sudan and announced the 3 NO’s:
-No peace
-No recognition
-No negotations

In 1978: Israel, in an act of good faith, gave the entire sinai peninsula (an area larger than all of Israel) back to Egypt in exchange for a promise of peace resulting in a peace agreement.

Israel has always been willing to do the same with the Palestinians. All the Palestinians have to do is recognize Israel as a jewish state and promise to live in peace with it.

In 2000: When Israel proposed trading land for peace with the Palestinans. When Israel agreed to a sovereign state 95% of west bank and all of Gaza. The Palestinian leadership said no and responded by sending waves of suicide terrorists into Israel. Meanwhile, Palestinian radio & school curricula teach daily propaganda glorifying terrorism, demonizing the jewish people and repeating the daily message that the state of Israel should cease to exist.

It’s not hard to explain: one side wants the other side dead.

The motto of Hamas is, no joke: We love death as much as the jews love life.

There are 22 Arab states in the world. There is one jewish state in the world. It is about the size of New Jersey.

Think about these 2 questions
================

If tomorrow Israel laid down their arms and announced we will fight no more, what would happen ? Israel would be destroyed and its population murdered.

If tomorrow the Arab states laid down their arms and announced we will fight no more, what would happen? There would be peace the next day.

One side wants the other side dead. If they didn’t there would be peace.
