HOW DID OUR TEAM BUILD THE MEDNEAR CLONE?
Hi reader, you might have ordered some medicines online right? So, I am sharing my team experience that how we build a clone of the online pharmacy “Mednear”.
For an intro, Mednear is the Primary Online Pharmacy in India that provides prescription, Over-the-counter medicines, and generic medicines all over India. It starts from the day when we were introduced to our website and team in a construct week project in Masai School. There are so many questions running in our minds because we didn't know each other at that time and we were new to the technologies we had used for the clone. There were so many challenges that we faced each day and the best thing is we as a team overcome those challenges, help each other out, we get to know teamwork, new concepts. It was like a short journey with challenges but in Masai, we are used to challenges now.
CHALLENGES WE FACED AND HOW WE SOLVED THEM
- If you have used Git before, then you can relate that using Github for the first time is a little confusing. But after getting the command over Git you end up thanking Mr.Linux for this amazing tool.
- Another challenge that we faced was that we have no idea of adding the effects like a carousel effect, making the navbar fixed. There are so many properties of CSS that we are learning daily.
- We have a limited time of a week so we covered the important parts of the site somehow but missed some categories.
- The biggest of all is we got stuck while merging our codes. At that moment we all started panicking because we are very close to the deadline
Our Approach
We made a WhatsApp group for communication and for discussion & queries we took zoom meeting 40 minutes advantage. We took full advantage of this amazing technology and we were there with each other for 10–12 hours daily. I was so overwhelmed by everyone’s efforts.
Then we divided the tasks and pages among each other and initiated the project. At the start, we helped each other in understanding the git then in our codes and bugs. After two days we were optimistic that we will finish it before the deadline but after that level of challenges was also increasing. But we keep helping each other which helped us to manage everything easily.
I remember on the day of submission everything was messy, we have to sort and merge our codes to the main branch. Some functionalities stopped working, keys in local storage were different and we were feeling stuck at that moment but we try to sort everything step by step and by breaking problems into sub-problems. At last, we were in the hustle to submit the links and video at the last moment but everyone managed it patiently. Finally, we took a big sigh of relief.
