A perfect example of how mandates can make creating the space for student ownership difficult. Funny thing is I actually got notched down from “expert” one year for not having this until I said, “Oh yeah, I had that” and sent a picture of the slide…notched back up to “expert.” At some point in this kind of transactional situation we have to say, “What exactly are we doing here?” We’re sending these missives to one another across the vast distance between us. Meanwhile, growth keeps on keeping on, with or without the “evaluation instrument.”
