It’s so important to mention this. This isn’t what they’ve been trained to do. So struggle doesn’t mean this was a mistake. Although we have to be sensitive to student feedback about making the process fairer and better, we also need to stick to our guns. This is ultimately good for them. The research — and our gut instinct— tells us so.
