The place I once knew — now the air is different

See if you can guess the place? (Psst! Don’t try to cheat and scroll to the bottom, you cheater!)

I have come to this place, again,

Strange place, this seems,

With faces — some familiar, some not so,

They all look so different to me,

Roamed and strutted around this place myself once,

But why do they all look so unfamiliar to me.

The exams are here, you see,

Every bird seems so new, little cats so few,

The air is different, the chorus so unique,

There are very few acquaintances here I see,

Girls and boys, both tall and small,

Confident and confused, jubilant yet some perturbed.

The air is different, I am telling you,

It is unlike the one I left breathing through.

They are moving here and there,

The lads and lassies,

Recalling some formula, some recalling their errs,

They are busy mumbling, some happy, some relieved,

Some prepping up for the storm that awaits them.

Some enjoying intimate talks in solitude,

While some discussing the exam they just went through.

The air is different, my friend,

It is unlike anything I have felt it in here,

Or maybe it is just me, finding myself in a place,

An alien place that was once my realm of glory.

The air is different, I tell you.

NEDUET, you are gorgeous!
I used to bask and sunbathe here once (read: study)
