Basics of COLORS

Below are the color themes one should understand before splashing colors in a house.

  • Monochromatic — One Color, The most simple theme you can think of yet looks elegant if picked right color. Simple and neutral colors like brown, white, beige etc…is best to pick. Use of bright colors can be a disaster. Imagine picking a bright color like Green, Black, Red or Yellow.
  • Triadic — 3 Colors, Pick a pastel color as your base and add 2 more contrasting colors by adding small elements like a cushion, vase, artifacts, carpet & curtains. Just keep in mind that all should go well together. Too much use of bold colors can make it look clumsy.
  • Tetradic — 4 Colors, the same thought process should be maintained as said for Triadic theme.
  • Complimentary & Contrasting — Colors that are contrasting yet complementing. Black and White is the best example of this theme. Green and Red are contrasting but not complimenting and that can be a big disaster.

How & where to use colors —

Adding colors to your home is important but to know how to use it is very much important. It’s always advisable to use bold and brights color in small decor elements.

Use of bright colors on walls and furniture makes the room look small, dull and hot, hence light shades on wall and furniture makes the room look big, airy and cool.

It is scientifically proven that in the same house, room walls painted in red is hotter than the room walls painted in whiter shades.

Wall paint color can also affect your moods. Each color has its own way to change your mood.

Conclusion —

Splash colors in your home in the right quantity and bring happiness, brightness, and prosperity to your house.
