Chapter Three

OLIVE GOT OUT OF HER car and walked into Riverside Café, hoping that she looked presentable. The small venue wasn’t exactly what she was used to when it came to a job, but then again, she hadn’t had too many in her lifetime. Olive had grown up in a wealthy area, and her Aunt May had raised her. She was never the kid that had to worry about food or clothing and even had more than one new car before she turned seventeen. Her college had been paid for, and her aunt provided her with a monthly allowance to cover any other expenses that she might have enjoyed shopping or going out with friends.

Olive never was required to have a job to provide for herself, though she had one in college, and when she had joined Jems and Jamz, Olive had found herself in a position where she could support herself. She had never gone without or had to worry about how she was going to afford things until now. Now, Olive was experiencing life how she figured many other did. She had bills to pay, and she knew after calculating the amount she had reserved in her savings that she would have to get a job if she wanted to afford her day-to-day needs.

Olive knew that her aunt would be more than willing to help her if she asked, but she also knew that would affect the comfortable condition that her aunt was living in, and she didn’t want to take…
