The time THOMAS BARTON JD told me to do something…

And I foolishly did not listen.
Hey there! Some of you have seen my story about my transformation from 100% person to part Cyborg. In case you haven’t, here’s a shameless self promotional plug:
The guy in the title of this piece wrote a nice reply and we had a short conversation, where I confessed that I had been dealing with some odd pains. He politely, but firmly, suggested I go to the doctor.
I said I would call the next day. I got busy at work and failed to do so. And I did that again the following day.
The weekend came and went. I was feeling better, so I decided I didn’t NEED to call after all.
Big mistake.
Turns out, I had an infection brewing and that was the source of the pain. By the time I called the doctor yesterday, he couldn’t get me in (he had to do a procedure yesterday afternoon).
My only choice — because I was in such terrible pain — was between going to the ER, going to urgent care or waiting for my next appointment already schedule for this coming Monday.
I went to Urgent Care. And that’s when I learned that I had an abscess the size of a golf ball near one of the screws that is holding my plate to my bone.
Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.
Luckily, I didn’t wait too long and we still have a shot of fixing it with meds. If I had waited much longer, I may have been on my way to the hospital yesterday instead of on my way home.
Oh how I wish I had listened to you!
This is a warning. If THOMAS BARTON JD makes a suggestion to you, take it from me, no matter how bad you wanna just do whatever you want, don’t. Listen to the dude. Somehow he knows what he’s talking about.
PS — I am doing better today. Thanks for asking.
Cyborg.
