I am going to say the part I disagree with (or rather, the part I want to draw attention to) first. Everything else will amount to ego petting and sweetness.

The part that’s important here is that these preferences, genetic or otherwise, are NOT based on gender or race. They just aren’t. There are men uninterested in computer science. There are women uninterested as well.

The preferences and differences are absolutely part of our genetic makeup, you just cannot predict them based on the gender/race phenotype. These things are passed down through our parents and their parents and their parents' parents.

That means that if all along the line I have an engineer dad, astrophysicist grandpa, an architect great grandpa and a sales woman mom, accountant grandma and a super sharp hell cat-tough-as-nails great grandma, the likelihood that I will be drawn to STEM is much greater then someone whose line contains people drawn to fields involving no math or science.

The fact that I am some sort of mixed creature with an XX as my sex genotype has NOTHING to do with the preferences I am predisposed towards because the sex chromosomes are not linked to the rest of my genome in a way that’s meaningful with respect to preferences.

Say that three times fast.

I have no way of knowing if he really did float this in front of the diversity people. Wish I could verify that… I do know he lied about his education once in this drama already and his links amount to Wikipedia and garbage similar to it.

Either way, I wasn’t for his firing, even knowing all of the above.

And you and I have much in common. I am very glad you decided to engage, even if we don’t agree on everything. ❤

EDITED because fuck the apostrophe.
