I got mad when I read this…
I took a breath, no longer mad.
I disagree with you completely. Telling people to keep quiet never fosters confidence and trust. And diversity by its very nature means we will disagree and that’s good. It’s what we need to do.
I don’t want the men I work with to begrudgingly accept me because they are forced to, I am quite happy earning their trust. And as long as the engineer is asking a question, opening a dialog instead of attempting to beat me over the face with his beliefs, I owe him the same respect in kind.
That’s called equality and that is what I want. Thank you very much.
