I’m pretty disappointed to see this out in this way.
I understand the frustration you felt but posting this in public, is just well…
Anyway, the reason things blew up very quickly is because we have a ton of writers and did not have all the processes in place (and frankly still don’t). It is ok with me that “the new publication with grammar errors” isn’t where you’d like to make yourself at home, frankly.
Because we aren’t doing it to be perfect. I find it really funny that a pub with the word “mess” in it’s name isn’t an indication that things might not be perfect. We are an accepting bunch. We know we are not perfect and don’t try to be.
I’m pretty good with grammar and alla that, but style judging, topic editing and/or muting voices is something I’m not into.
Also, we do this for free too. With real jobs outside of medium, so again, sorry — not sorry.
I know you didn’t mention us by name, but we earned our following by being who we are. I’m sorry you didn’t fit in, but girl that’s about you.
Perfection isn’t attainable or desirable. I’m sure you’ll do fine here on Medium and elsewhere, but there’s no reason to run around announcing this stuff. It was kind of a jerk thing to do if you think about it.
No one from the pub wrote an article that said — So-in-so has left the building because she thinks she’s too good for us, even though we very well could have.
We’ll get the silly crap worked out as we go along, but we will never be perfect and I don’t think that’s wrong.
See you around.
