She Taught Us How
to uplift ourselves

When I don’t know what to do; when I see pain and horror created by hatred and people dehumanizing others — I look to the great teacher — who I imagine would be the best kind of friend.
A friend who will tell you the truth and hold you tight as you weep for what should be, but isn’t. A friend who never creates a controlling dependence within you — instead assists you just the right amount — that you may learn to depend on yourself.
Dr. Maya Angelou:
“History, despite its wrenching pain, cannot be unlived, but if faced with courage, need not be lived again.”
