There are a lot of different industrial brushes available and every variant has utility of their own. Learn about what to look for in brushes while choosing one for foodservice industry.

Brushes and cleaning tools have to be very specialized in order to meet all of the unique requirements of the foodservice industry. Brushes of different shapes and sizes play a great role in cleaning all the equipments used in these kinds of industries.

Not only the foodservice industry but different variants of brushes are used by different industries for specific purposes. Nylon brushes for janitorial usage to miniature brushes for minute applications; industrial brushes are required by every organisation.

Proper bristle selection is another important consideration while choosing brushes. Every specific task requires special kinds of bristles and due this fact, there are a lot of different brushes available.

Longer bristles offer greater flexibility when compared to the same material in a shorter trim. The key to efficiency is maximum bristle tip contact to surface and proper type of bristle for the surface to be cleaned or prepped.

While choosing brushes for foodservice industry; one can find them categorized into three main segments:

Circular tube-cleaning brushes — Tube-cleaning brushes are designed to go inside circular and cylindrical structure like drains, valves, tubes, and other types of fittings. These brushes are identified and distinguished by their diameter across bristle area. While selecting the perfect brush, one should look whether the diameter of the opening of the valve is matching with that of the brush or not.

If the diameters of both the opening and the brush do not match then the bristles will not touch the wall of the object to be cleaned. This will make the whole purpose futile.

On the contrary, if the brush is too tight inside the opening then the cleaning efficiency will decrease and the bristles might also get damaged. Therefore a perfect fit is necessary to execute the cleaning task efficiently.

Flat-scrub brushes — For cleaning open, curved or flat surfaces, these brushes are the way to go. Many of the scrub brushes have various “trim” angles to help keep bristle tips in contact with surfaces during the cleaning or food prepping process.

Butter brushes — These are special brushes with densely packed bristles that can retain liquid for some time and spread the liquid over any space. The greater the bristle area is, the more liquid it can spread over cakes and pastry.

These are the things that you need to know about brushes. If you are in need for industrial brushes make sure to check the reputed websites.
