[Deep Learning] Conversation with Akshit Arora, NVIDIA
Breaking into the tech industry with Machine Learning and Deep Learning
I am very excited to be writing this blog which has snippets of my recent conversation with Akshit Arora. I am going to share some amazing resources that he introduced me to!
About Akshit:
Akshit is a Data Scientist (Solutions Architect) at NVIDIA. His work revolves around deploying machine learning and deep learning platforms at scale. He graduated with a Master’s in Computer Science from the University of Colorado Boulder and Bachelor’s of Engineering in Computer Engineering from Thapar University, Patiala, India.
Here’s one of his recent insightful talks — https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fT0BVKx0c88.
About our Call:
My call with Akshit was extremely exciting, I don’t know how one hour flew by! We talked about our passion for technology, tech communities and learning from others. It was refreshing to find someone with similar interests and a growth mindset.
- One of the things he shared was the skills in deployment models at scale may not be expected of fresh graduates but are impressive, handy and valuable skills to have. Taking up courses in scalable system design and learning about pipeline deployment (https://github.com/PipelineAI/pipeline) may be a good idea.

- Here’s an amazing blog by Chip Huyen-https://huyenchip.com/2020/06/22/mlops.html. It is always good and exciting to know the latest advancements in the space of your interest. You can also follow her other blogs, she has made quite a contribution!
- Since many conferences are going online now, it would be an amazing idea to attend them and come up with a review (blog/youtube/ any other form of content). Get the conversations going right from your couch during this pandemic!
