Weather Himachal

Indian hilly regions are the only places where people can seek refuge in summers. They are not only covered with lush green forests but their temperature also remains relatively cool to the plains. The places around Himalayan belt are low in temperature due to the chills they receive from the snow covered slopes. The entire region from Jammu Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand to Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh remain moderately cold even in summers. This becomes an ideal time to visit these places. Apart from the temperature, weather in hilly areas can vary from place to place, considering their geographical situation.

Places like Pahalgam and Kargil in Jammu and Kashmir remain very cold and snowy whereas Srinagar in the same state remains neither too cold, nor too warm even in summers. Leh and Ladakh regions from the same state are just at the feet of highest peaks and remain sunny during the day whereas bitingly frosty at night. Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand are also the Himalayan states and weather in these states is welcoming at all times. Shimla, Manali, Dharamshala, Dalhousie, Kaza, and Sangla in HP and Rishikesh, Kausani, Nainital, Mussoorie, and Almora in Uttarakhand are some of the options that suit to tourists. Rohtang Pass near Manali is the most famous tourist place and it can only be visited in hot days. Summers are the best time to spend vacations in any of these spots for both super fun and relief from heat.

In the North East India, the seven sister states face different weather patterns despite of being so closely packed. Though these states are also on Himalayan ranges, their rainfall pattern is very different from North West Himalayan areas. As there is an abrupt rise in the ranges and the lower hills are so close to the sea, one can enjoy here rainfall for most part of the year. Cherrapunji receives highest rainfall in India. The lower belts remain lush green throughout the year. It’s not just the fun of water, but one can even enjoy snow at high reaches of Gangtok, Pangsau Pass, Sela Pass and other areas.

Slight rain and storm cleanse the air and add a little glamour to the trip. Weather in hilly areas of India is the most welcoming feature for any holiday or vacation. Tourists who visit high reaches can even witness real fluffy snowfall in the middle of June. This elates the spirit and adds spice to an experience story. There is nothing better than holding a warm cup of coffee in the chilled breeze of high altitude terrain. There is nothing else than sheer pleasure.

Note: Please check the weather reports and forecast before visiting.
