This is the first time this story is being told.So here is the story of a shining star which became a Neutron star and came very close to being engulfed by the black hole. One step into the black hole and it’s identity is gone. Confused?

That Shining Star

You ought to be. Because not everyday a star comes back from being a black hole. Yes, that star is the one whose life story you are going to read now. It’s a long story, so sit tight with patience.
Born and brought up in a medium class family and cursed with a brain disease in the childhood, which could have proved dangerous, had it been not for the doctor who saved me(I am completely over it now by God’s grace). 8 years of constant medication never let me go out and play in field like other kids did. For me, it used to be once in a while business when my parents would allow me to go out and play. This never let me become the person i always wanted to be in my childhood- An Army-man.

Childhood Dream

A topper in the school till 10th class and became an average student all of a sudden. This was the time when i got introduced to computer world for the first time. I was so fascinated by computers that i lost my sleep over them. The marks started dropping and i became an average student all of a sudden. Like other Indian parents my parents thought of it as a result of some bad company of few friends. But i was lost in computers and soon i became a jack of all trades in computer(though, master of none). At that moment i didn’t know that someday this passion will take me right into IT world.

Passion Pays

When i was done with my schooling, i had a wonderful past but ruined present with less marks in 12th class. All my dreams to pursue a career in computers came to a halt. Nothing seemed right at that time and after 2 years i faced the biggest brutality of life — My eldest sister was no more. This left me shattered but never got a chance to talk to any person about that.I went to a state of depression and touched a new low there.Lost confidence to the extent that I stopped sharing myself with anyone. A bright star started to be pulled by the gravity of the black hole made by the negative thoughts.

After 7 months of this incident i got admission into an engineering college. I don’t know how it happened but it seems that sometimes good also happens when you are going through the baddest phases of your life.

Life Changes For Good

The new life started for a hopeless boy(at that time) and he took pledge that he will do great in college. But alas, the ghosts of past haunted me now and then as the environment was very dim and bleak to study in my home during those times,so i got half a dozen backlogs in my first year. This never let me recover throughout my engineering and so again i went to a catch 22 situation.I cracked into 11 final rounds of interviews for different companies but never came out smiling because of my past mistakes.Making a career in computers felt a remote possibility as my marks were just average. So there came the biggest push from my parents of becoming a Government or Bank Officer( I am seriously fed up with this old age system of parenting where Indian parents know about 2–3 professions and they advise their kids to pursue careers out of those only). At this point of time i had almost lost interest in pursuing a career and went with the flow. Cracked SSC CGL for an Income Tax Officer post, cracked SBI PO first round, cracked IBPS Specialist Officer exam and at last cracked IBPS PO with surprisingly high marks.

Keep Going

But destiny had something else in it’s mind. There was a referral drive by Infosys at the same time and i went for it,leaving my PO interview.Got selected and got back to what i always wanted.
This story is for guys like me and my fellow people who have just started pursuing their dreams. The biggest takeaway from my life till now is:

Destiny somehow fulfills your dreams if you keep pushing. I have felt that you can be the master of your life. Your Karma defines all. You Only Live Once, so make full use of it. All the best.

P.S: If i write the Udacity experience story here, it will be injustice to Udacity. So the journey from Infosys, till Google Udacity Scholarship continues in the next post.
