My Successful Speeding Ticket Self-Defense

The judge fudged the official record of reality.

The traffic was light, and the music was heavy, as I cruised southbound down the highway in the far-left lane — the fast lane.

Seemingly out of nowhere, a patrol car appeared behind me with lights flashing. Officially, I was driving 78mph. I say “officially” because that’s what it says on my original citation. Granted, that’s not what the final record says.

I couldn’t be upset with the officer; he was doing his job. He caught me breaking law 4511.21D5 under the Ohio Revised Code with a laser from a stationary patrol car, fair and square. I could not dispute that.

However, I could dispute the legitimacy of the code itself. For if it can be revised, that means its challengeable. After all, if traffic laws were flawless, there would never be a need to change them. Right?
