Climate Change

Among the burning global issues, climatic changes are another bean in the pile. The vague issue covers many countries and continents, engulfing a whole list of reasons which aids to this alarming issue.

Climatic changes all over the world are changing the original seasonal flow of continents. There’s not a sole reason for the alarmingly arising situation rather it covers many such elemental things that are disrupting the natural picturesque of Earth.

Climate Change is the defining issue of our time and we are at a defining moment. From shifting weather patterns that threaten food production, to rising sea levels that increase the risk of catastrophic flooding, the impacts of climate change are global in scope and unprecedented in scale. Without drastic action today, adapting to these impacts in the future will be more difficult and costly.

Amongst the dark clouds of smoke, tones of garbage disposed open air, deforestation, and water pollution that are causes of the climatic changes lies the overuse of plastics. The trend of using Plastic bags is currently rising in many countries. Plastic has toxic pollutants that damage the environment and cause land, water and air pollution. It can take hundred or even thousands of years for plastic to break down. So, the damage to the environment is long-lasting.

On land, wind can carry plastic waste or litter throughout the environment. It can get stuck in trees, fences, traffic lights, or other structures. When animals come into contact with this plastic waste, they risk consuming the toxins or becoming entangled in the plastic and suffocating. If an animal consumes a piece of plastic, the plastic can clog its stomach while also poisoning it with toxins. Almost 200 different species of animals are known to ingest plastic debris.

Air pollution is another issue for humans and animals. When plastic is burned in the open air, it releases large amounts of toxins, which pollutes the air. If the toxins are inhaled for a long period of time, it can lead to respiratory problems. As the world’s population increases, land becomes more valuable, and it will soon become difficult to find places to put garbage. Over time, landfills and dumps will take up more land, invading animals’ habitats and coming even closer to groundwater sources.

Where the Westerns have banned the usage of plastics, Pakistan is still in the blind state of using them. In the midst of the thought that plastics are harmful to the health and causes cancerous cells, the fact is that plastics can’t be burned thus they are not disposable. Plastic is a threat to the environment and an action must be taken as soon as possible to control it before it too late.
