According to NBC Sports, The Professional Hockey Writers Association has Boston Bruins players David Pastrnak and Patrice Bergeron as midseason contenders for the Selke and Hart trophies.

Patrice Bergeron is a top three contender for the Selke Trophy, along with Sean Couturier (Philadelphia Flyers) and Ryan O’Reilly (St. Louis Blues). The Selke Trophy is awarded to the forward that best excels in the defensive aspects of the game. Bergeron has won this trophy four times throughout his career and currently has 21 goals, 20 assists, and 41 points in 42 games for the Bruins.

David Pastrnak is a top three contender for the Hart Trophy, along with Connor McDavid (Edmonton Oilers) and Nathan Mackinnon (Colorado Avalanche). This trophy is awarded to the player that is seen to be the most valuable to their team. Pastrnak, who has been named an All-Star, has been an important player for the Bruins this season. He currently leads the league with 37 goals in 51 games played for the Bruins.

The Professional Hockey Writers Association (PHWA) is a group of 117 writers from all 32 National Hockey League teams that vote for the player they think should win each trophy.

The contending players can change throughout the season.
