Kremlin campaign against Institute for Statecraft
It is increasingly clear from the staged release of data stolen from the Institute for Statecraft that we are watching a targeted, coordinated disinformation campaign unfold. The allegations made by Russian state media in particular against the Institute for Statecraft’s ‘Integrity Initiative’ are precisely the sort of disinformation that this project is designed to counter.
The deliberate release of files and the accompanying Russian state media campaign are an attempt to discredit the Institute for Statecraft and the important work it has been doing in countering Russia’s disinformation campaign in western Europe, including in the aftermath of the chemical weapon attack on British citizens in Salisbury.
The Institute is proud of the role it has played in tackling Russian disinformation and assisting the British government to upgrade its response to a range of new hybrid threats to the security of the United Kingdom and its allies.
