Are You The Hero?
You’re going to hit a point where something catastrophic happens.
Maybe it’s your health.
Maybe it’s your family.
Maybe it’s your career.
But it’s going to be an event that completely shatters your reality.
At that point, you’re going to realize two things:
- I’ve been wasting too much goddamn time on this bullshit.
- I was right the whole time. I should have done… (insert yours here).
In the movies, this happens all the time and it’s usually the climax. The most important and compelling scene. The moment The Hero turns it all around.
Let me tell you something, this isn’t a fucking movie. This is YOUR LIFE and you only get one.
Maybe you have that moment coming.
Maybe you even have a few of them.
But maybe you don’t and you get hit by a car 3 months from now.
Realize your most terrifying thoughts and desires are actually sign posts telling you EXACTLY what you need to do.
“Are you paralyzed with fear? That’s a good sign. Fear is good. Like self-doubt, fear is an indicator. Fear tells us what we have to do. Remember one rule of thumb: the more scared we are of a work or calling, the more sure we can be that we have to do it.”
― Steven Pressfield, The War of Art: Break Through the Blocks & Win Your Inner Creative Battles
The EGO thinks it’s scary because the more you do what scares the shit out of you and pushes you, the more you actualize yourself. The more you actualize your full potential.
You “wake up” to the fact this is a finite experience.
An experience which, at the end, we die.
The EGO doesn’t want you to wake up because it becomes useless. It likes being in charge. It likes keeping you comfortable because that’s where it lives.
Embrace THE SELF and start living your life.
Create “that moment” now because you might not be lucky enough to receive one in the future.
Be “The Hero” of your own movie.
