How To Get A Mentor In 2018 (3 Easy Steps)

Most of you are almost finished setting your new goals, positioning yourself and getting ready to fucking DOMINATE in 2018.

But some of you aren’t and need a little help.

That’s where a Mentor comes in.

The dictionary definition for a Mentor says he or she is an experienced and trusted adviser.

Someone who can short cut your success and give you the results you want.

But how do you get one?

It’s easy — just follow these 3 simple steps.

  1. Make a list. Before you get a Mentor you have to locate them first! Take a quick 5–10 min. to mark down EVERYONE you’d love to have as your Mentor. Start at the top with the juggernauts like Gary Vaynerchuk or Tai Lopez and gradually drop lower to the guys you kind of like and lower to the guy you can’t stand but are still very good at what they do.
  2. Reach out. Next, craft a very personal message UNIQUE to that Mentor. Not a generic copy & paste message. “But that takes too long!” Listen, we’re talking about your career and your life here. If you don’t have the time to write out a heartfelt, powerful message for your dream Mentor then you don’t deserve to get one. In this message, write why you love them (lead with a compliment) and…
  3. Provide value. Your Mentors, especially the ones at the tippy top, are constantly hit up by people wanting them to give advice, be on their show, do this, do that, want, want, want, take, take, take. DON’T DO THIS IN YOUR MESSAGE. If you want someone like Gary Vaynerchuk, you’re going to have to work for free doing whatever the hell he wants for a year or two. And I would encourage you to say that in your email. You will do whatever it takes and work for as long as possible. This is your in. You probably suck when you’re just starting out so the ONLY thing you can offer of value is your time and energy. Leverage this.

That’s it! Super simple, huh?

This has gotten me multiple Mentors and opportunities which have changed my entire life.

I’d like to do the same for you with these 3 Steps.
