I do appreciate the outside perspective you bring! However, my Grandmother always has had a dependence on men in her life, not just with Phil but with my Grandfather as well. Yes, shes latching onto him out of memory reasons that go along with the disease, but there’s more going on than just that that I didnt get into here because I didnt wish to. Also, me seeing her dependence on Phil isn’t so much me interpreting her deterioration as literally BECAUSE of her dependence — its more of a metaphor. If I feed the dependence now while Im still in my 20's, I may end up like that and never learn how to be my own, Alzheimers or not. And I dont wish to. xo
