3 Reasons Coldplay Shouldn’t Have Shot His Latest Music Video In India

1. Indians specialize in being selectively patriotic. While we unhesitatingly elect ministers with criminal records to significant cabinet positions without giving a fuck about how it portrays us as a country abroad, we get very touchy if you shoot a video in our country in a way done before.
2. We have got an inferiority complex. Though, we grow up watching movies/videos that are the living embodiment of colour/gender and all possible types of discrimination in the book, it doesn’t matter an ounce to us unless we hear that a foreigner is associated with it and seemingly mocking us.
3. We don’t believe in the phrase ‘practise what you preach’ because in order to come across as desirable on screen, it’s mandatory for our Bollywood actors to be surrounded by many blond women in skimpy outfits who they just have fun with ( because they sleep with a man at the drop of a hat) before they ultimately marry a cultural ‘desi’ girl. We will always take the liberty of portraying western culture as ‘degrading’ and ‘morally corrupt’ but we won’t let anyone depict our country in a ‘certain’ way.
