It’s certainly interesting to compare Nietzsche’s third metamorphosis/the child at play with Buddhist ideas of enlightenment. While Buddhist literature would likely strongly caution us against characterising enlightenment as an unruly child-like state, I think there’s absolutely some similarities between the intensity of purpose shown by a child at play and the state of mindful concentration which Buddhists strive to attain.
