The Mystery of the Vanishing Heirloom

In the quiet town of Shadyside, the wealthy and eccentric Harrington family resided in an ancient mansion. One morning, they discovered that their prized family heirloom, a dazzling diamond necklace, had vanished.
There were five people in the mansion the night before: Mr. Harrington, his wife Mrs. Harrington, their two children, Emily and Edward, and their faithful butler, Mr. Baxter.
Mr. Harrington was the first to discover the disappearance. He claimed he’d been in his study all night, working on his memoirs. However, his inkwell was found to be full, and there were no new pages in his typewriter.
Mrs. Harrington, a socialite, said she had retired early due to a headache. Yet, her maid reported finding her bed untouched in the morning.
Emily, the elder child, confessed to being out at a party until late. But her best friend, who was at the same party, swore Emily left early.
Edward, the younger son, mentioned he was at the library studying for an exam. But, the librarian could not recall seeing him that night.
Mr. Baxter, the butler, insisted he was asleep after serving dinner. However, the cook noticed the back door ajar when she arrived early in the morning, something Baxter was responsible for…
